Caitlin and Dalton’s Love Story
Dalton and I met when we were just 16 years young. It was instant. There was no going back after that.I lived in Ohio and he lived in Florida.I fell in love and I moved to Florida. We lost our way a few times, but always found each other. We were young. Life was hard. But ultimately, we found each other again and again. Every time. In 2017, we created the most beautiful boy in the world— Avery River Driggers. He changed everything! Dalton and River proposed to me on March 30, 2019. We had just finished eating dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and Dalton suggested going for a walk on the beach. He knows how much I love that! We were walking along and I was walking a bit in front of them. Dalton called my name and I turned around. He was holding Riv, who was holding out the ring for me. They were both smiling. It was an obvious “Yes!”We’ve been through some difficult things in life and we have helped each other through most of them. I can’t imagine my life any other way.

Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day?
We decided on a simple elopement to keep things small and intimate. In the past few years, we’ve been through so much together. Especially this last year. Being able to focus on each other was so important.

What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
We just really embraced the natural beauty of Driftwood Beach. It was rainy and dreary, but it gave us sort of a mysterious and sultry feel. I absolutely loved it.

How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
My dress was actually chosen when we planned for a mountain ceremony before I got sick. I knew I still wanted to wear it even though our venue and ceremony plans changed. We kept everything else simple, so I felt my dress was really able to be the statement. That was special to me.

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
We were both pretty nervous with the way the weather was looking. It had actually been thunder-storming all morning, and our sunrise ceremony was scheduled for 8AM. Dalton could tell I was nervous. He said a little prayer, and I kid you not, the weather was showing a clearing at exactly the time we needed it to. It turned out even better than I could have ever imagined.

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
My advice to anyone planning a wedding would be to not overthink it. Remember that the day should be about you and your spouse, not everyone else. It’s important not to lose sight of that.

My name is Shelbi and I am the lady behind the lens. I am a small-town girl based out of Palatka Florida. Photography became a part of my life at a young age and really stuck with me after my tour in Germany with the U.S. Army. Being in Europe taught me so many things about the adventures in life and brought light to the joys of travel, culture, and relationships along the way. I have since become a wife and mother and love every second of it. I truly fell in love with photography when I realized how precious each day of our lives here on earth really are. The feeling of capturing days in our past really sparked something in my soul. I love meeting new people and have so many places not yet seen on my bucket list.

Fun Facts about me!
I am a lover of coffee and most days need it to function
I am a travel addict and can not go over a year without experiencing a new place
I am a boy mamma! My little guy keeps me on my toes for sure!
I tend to be a social butterfly and may talk your head off. SOOO you’re welcome to tell me HUSH at anytime
I love all things real and raw. Our lives are unique and I am seriously into capturing it
