From the Bride
In the beginning of planning a wedding, my mom and I quickly realized we knew nothing about it. Our first step was hiring Carlson’s Premier Events. Before I move on- this was a life saver. James & his team worked so many hours to give Josh and I the wedding we wanted and so much more.
We had one part of the planning down- the venue. My parents bought a house on the Vernon River several years ago and it truly is one of my favorite places in the world. It’s so peaceful – and the sunsets are out of this world.
As the planning continued, I knew I wanted blush peonies. I had my date set for May 2,2020. Warm Savannah weather and minimal sand gnats! At the end of March, we were finalizing details and COVID came to town. We made the decision to postpone for the safety of our guests. Josh and I were devastated, but the wedding would still go on and that is all that matters!
As the day came, 15 months of planning completely came together and it was truly my personal fairytale. James & his staff coordinated with all of the vendors so myself and my family could relax and enjoy the day.
At the end of the day, our wedding is something I will cherish forever. I am so blessed and grateful for my parents, Alan & April, for providing Josh & I with the wedding of my dreams. I’m so blessed for my in-laws, who worked with Josh and I to make sure we had everything we wanted and a beautiful Rehearsal dinner.
All in all, our vendors, our guests, our friends and family- the day would have never been so perfect without each and every one of them. October 3rd, 2020 will be a day I will never forget!
The day Josh proposed, I was on the way home from the office. A friend of mine and I were just chatting, and she asked if I thought he would propose anytime soon. I quickly answered, “Oh no. I highly doubt it.” About 2 hours later, I called her to let her know I was engaged!
Josh is more introverted and I’m one that is not all for public attention, so I continuously told him make sure it’s low key! He knew exactly what type of ring I wanted, and my many “requests”, such as “don’t do it on my birthday or a holiday.”
When I got home from work, I sat down on the couch to scroll through my phone. He told me to close my eyes- he had a surprise for me for my trip that coming up weekend. I was nervous, and I can tell you with confidence- I was not expecting what came next!
When I opened my eyes, he was on one knee and I was elated! Of course, I said yes! It was so intimate and special and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. We spent the next hour calling all of our friends and family to let them know the exciting news!
