From The Bride
I knew I wanted our wedding to have a natural, garden theme with southern elements as Sagar and I are both from the South and love being outdoors. It was exactly as I had dreamed, from the Magnolia leaves to the sound of the waves on the beach. We had some unique elements, including a beautiful donut wall that Sagar’s brothers built from scratch and was a guest favorite. Sagar and his family celebrated and danced their way to meet me on the Mandap (altar), but not before my bridesmaids and I could surprise him with a Bollywood dance to a popular Indian song! We were a bit nervous about the weather as it had been raining the entire week, but thankfully our ceremony stayed dry. The contrast of vibrant Indian attire against the natural green and white elements was purely magical. I could not stop smiling and thinking how lucky I was to be his wife, and how lucky we both were to be surrounded by family that would do anything for us. It’s been almost a year now, but I can clearly remember how much laughter there was throughout the entire ceremony and how I kept thanking God that all my roads led to this exact moment.
It was the spring after we had just graduated medical school and were about to embark on a month-long backpacking trip across Southeast Asia. Life was already really good – I was about to become an ER doctor and Sagar was pursuing Surgery. A few months back, he mentioned that his high school friends were getting married in Charleston so we planned a weekend trip to attend the ceremony in March. We got to the “venue” – the gorgeous Magnolia Plantation, and I remember thinking it was strange we hadn’t run into any of his friends yet. He said the wedding was a little further inside the plantation, so we kept walking while taking in the breathtaking views of the spring blooms. We had just gotten to the middle of this beautiful, historic white bridge when I saw him turn around and look at me – and I knew exactly what he was about to do. The last thing I remember is him down on one knee – everything else is a blur of happiness and laughter. He set up a surprise photo session for us too, and while I turned towards the camera for a few pictures, somehow he managed to have both our families there to surprise me again! It was the perfect spring proposal – we shared some champagne in the gardens with everyone we loved and basked in the gorgeous day around us.
We are Brooke and Paul Roberts, a husband and wife wedding photography team based in south east GA. It’s been a joy to photograph weddings for over 13 years and to be able to work with some of the best vendors in the wedding industry. Our photography has won awards, been featured in top publications and we are preferred vendors for many award winning venues.
We are more than just photographers, we are storytellers. Each wedding is as unique as each couple’s love story so we never take a cookie cutter approach. Every event we capture is done with the purpose of telling the entire story of the day including all the little moments and memories that would be forgotten if not captured in photos. We want our couples to look at their pictures for years to come and to remember exactly how they felt in those moments.
